Wellbeing Hub - Saxmundham and North East Integrated Neighbourhood Team

Consultation has concluded

During the Connect meetings in the Saxmundham and North East Integrated Neighbourhood Team area, it was discussed and agreed by a combination of statutory and Voluntary & Community sector organisations to try and develop a new community wellbeing hub for the area to reach out and support residents to improve their health and wellbeing.

Since the initial idea was suggested, GP surgery’s, health professionals, Councils, and Voluntary & Community Sector organisations, are working together to try and create a Community Mental Health / Wellbeing Hub which aims to support the local community by;

• Creating a local mental health, physical health and volunteering hub

• Providing a space for statutory services and local community and voluntary groups to offer formal sessions, drop in clinics, information sharing opportunities, educational meetings and help to prevent isolation

• Bringing some services closer to the patient's home. but not duplicating what GP surgery’s already deliver

So far, a scoping exercise has taken place to identify current provision or services operating in the local area to support residents, potential gaps in services, those organisations who would be wanting to deliver services from a hub, plus possible venues where the hub could operate from. We are also currently in the process of consulting with residents on what they would like to see from a local wellbeing hub and why they might attend themselves.

Plans are progressing well and conversation are happening with possible venues and service providers, as well as identifying possible funding streams to support the delivery of the hub.
