Advice and Guidance Services

NHS Suffolk and North East Essex are working alongside healthcare partners and the local population to see how we can maximise the use and effectiveness of Advice and Guidance services.

‘Advice and Guidance’ is where your GP, or other clinical member of staff, discusses with a specialist doctor, or specialist team at your local hospital, about getting the most appropriate care for you. The discussion may happen instead of referring you to the specialist doctor, or the specialist doctor might want to see you after Advice and Guidance communication with your GP.

Your experience of Advice and Guidance services

As a patient or carer, this survey asks about your experience of Advice and Guidance that you have received from your GP.

You can tell us about helpful and positive experiences, and we would also like to hear about the less helpful things that you may have experienced.

How your feedback will help

Your feedback will help us to identify areas of good practice, as well as opportunities to improve local Advice and Guidance services. This will support local implementation of NHS England’s Advice and Guidance Framework by the end of March 2026. While we may not be able to implement every suggestion, we genuinely welcome all contributions to help us shape the best outcomes for our population.

Please take part in the survey by Friday 13th February 2026.
