Thank you for getting in touch with use via our engagement platform, Let’s Talk SNEE and we apologise for the lengthy delay in responding to you.  Let’s Talk SNEE is available for everyone in Suffolk and North East Essex and is one way that the various partners of the Suffolk and North East Essex Integrated Care System can engage with the people and communities of our geographical area.

Currently, a lot of the activity on the platform relates to Suffolk but new projects and engagements are being set up all the time and many of the upcoming projects will relate to North East Essex.  We hope that, in the future, the platform will be more widely used by all our Integrated System Care partners ensuring that it remains relevant to everyone in Suffolk and North East Essex.

In the meantime, please visit the following projects which encompass both North East Essex and Suffolk to get involved:

  • I live on Mersea Island on the new Sanderling Reach development. A new Doctors surgery was in the original plans for the development but is no longer happening. Do you know why?

Lorraine Klemm asked 9 months ago

Thank you for sending in a question via our engagement platform Let's Talk SNEE and I apologise for the delay in responding.  Your question was forwarded to the Primary Care Team at Suffolk and North East Essex Integrated Care Board who have responded as follows:

“We are continuing to work with the practice to understand their capacity concerns. We wish to assure people who reside within Mersea Island Medical Practice’s boundary that they will have access to local primary care medical services”

  • Why are new builds not refused when the infrastructure is unable to cope. Ie Doctors on Mersea have had to refuse to take anymore patients as they are unable to cope with them. Surely this should be a priority!

    Topaz asked 9 months ago

Thank you for getting in touch through Let's Talk SNEE. Queries about housing should be forwarded to West Mersea Town Council at

    Email: carol.fountain@westmerseatowncouncil.gov.uk

    Telephone: 01206 382128

The Suffolk and North East Essex Integrated Care Board is continuing to work with the practice to understand its capacity concerns and to support staff to overcome those issues. We wish to assure people who reside within Mersea Island Medical Practice’s boundary that they will have access to local primary care medical services. For those who require self-care advice and information about staying well during the summer months, please visit 111 online, www.sneewellbeing.org.uk or call NHS 111.”

  • Our GP practice on Mersea island has just had to close their list due to an influx of new people moving into new estates being built on the island. This has been known about for some time, now patients will have to allocated to practices either on the way to Colchester or perhaps in Colchester, many of whom are also under pressure. This has been known about for some time, but there is no indication that the ICB have done anything proactive to address this issue. So what is the plan?

  • Hello, I am a Parish Councillor for Sible Hedingham, Essex. Can you update me on the progress on agreeing the finance for a new medical centre please. We know we have planning permission and the land for the building but I understand you are responsible for providing the finance to build the medical centre and I assume you will own the building and rent out to local doctors. Thank you.

  • Hello. My father will be haviing a cataract operation which prohibits him from driving to and from the hospital. His appointment is for 20th December. He lives in Nazeing and the hospital is in Sawbridgeworth. The taxi fare would be £80 and this he cannot afford. Is there another service available to him?

Simon Sawyer asked over 2 years ago

Thank you for getting in touch via our engagement platform, Let's Talk SNEE with your query regarding non-emergency patient transport. Please can I direct you to contact your father’s local Integrated Care Board, Mid and South Essex - who will be able to confirm what transport services are available in the area and whether these would be suitable for your father to use for his hospital journeys.
