    Very Important Cancer Conversations

Very Important Cancer Conversations is about hearing real stories from people who have been affected by cancer in Suffolk and North East Essex. No matter your screening or diagnosis journey your experiences are valuable and can make a difference.

Whether you have had a personal experience or supported someone through theirs, your voice matters here. Your story can inspire and support others who might be experiencing something similar.

If you would like to share your story please reach out, we are listening, go to https://www.letstalksnee.co.uk/very-important-cancer-conversations

Research IS for me! A workshop funded by the NIHR (National Institute for Health & Care Research)

Thinklusive are hosting an interactive workshop for people with a learning disability to gain skills and confidence around research projects and studies.

People with learning disabilities are an under-represented group across health and care research. We know that people with learning disabilities face unequal treatment in the NHS compared to other people.

They experience barriers in accessing healthcare and unequal treatment and have poorer outcomes from the healthcare they receive. Despite accessing mainstream healthcare like everyone else, people with learning disabilities are often excluded from research. Therefore, we don’t always know what the best treatments are for them, or what research is most important to them.

For research to become more inclusive, we need to empower individuals, families, carers and support teams to understand more about the importance of research.

We are inviting you to a workshop all about research. This is the first of 3 workshops held in Summer/Autumn 2025.

The workshops will be run by Thinklusive and supported by a research nurse from East Suffolk and North Essex Foundation Trust (ESNEFT).

The workshops are open to adults with learning disabilities, families, carers and support teams.

Through this interactive workshop, you will gain skills and confidence around research projects and studies.

Time and date: Thursday 21 August, 2 - 4:30 pm

Workshop location: Wolsey Room, Ipswich County Library, Northgate Street, Ipswich, IP1 3DE
