Shaping diabetes services in Suffolk and North East Essex

More than 4.7 million people have diabetes in the UK (3.3 million in England) and the number of diagnoses has doubled in the past 20 years. If not managed well, diabetes can lead to a variety of complications.

Currently, community diabetes pathways vary across the three Alliances in Suffolk and North East Essex. To provide a good and equal service across the whole of our region we need to consider many things and to help us with this we are seeking valuable input from patients and family carers with lived experience of diabetes (type 1 and type 2). Physician Associates

We are conducting a survey to gather valuable feedback on the role of Physician Associates (PAs) within our local healthcare system. As an integral part of multidisciplinary teams, PAs support doctors in providing high-quality patient care, but we want to understand more about how they are perceived, their effectiveness, and any areas for improvement.

Your feedback is essential in guiding improvements. By sharing your experiences, you can help shape the future of physician associate practice, ensuring they continue to enhance access to care and improve patient outcomes. The responses will be used to inform policy decisions, optimise training programs, and refine the integration of PAs into the healthcare system.

      Carers Voices

Healthwatch Essex are running a survey to gather information about unpaid carers and employment.

For many unpaid carers, balancing employment with caring responsibilities can be an uphill struggle. Carers often face significant barriers to securing meaningful and sustainable employment. This survey produced on behalf of Essex County Council aims to explore those barriers and provide better insights to inform the changes needed by policymakers, employers, and support organisations. Loneliness Reduction Training Coming to West Suffolk!

Do you work for a Suffolk organisation that is connected to people experiencing loneliness? These can be organisations that promote social, mental, and physical wellbeing. If so, then Norfolk & Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust in collaboration with Civil Society Consulting and other partners invite you to book onto their new loneliness reduction training.

The training is currently aimed at grassroots organisations or statutory sector professionals working within the local area who are connected to people experiencing loneliness. However, the course can be adapted for all.

The workshops are to be split over two days.

If you are interested in attending the training on behalf of your organisation or would like to know more, please contact:

tabitha.taylor@nsft.nhs.uk – Local Partner of CSC
