Waiting for Aortic Valve Replacement at Papworth

Finally in the last 48 hours of my wait - after an initial 6 week delay from the start of June (first surgeon appointment on April 11th) and then a cancellation of July 22nd. Really informative and encouraging communications at every stage. However, I've been warned it could still be cancelled......

Cardiology at Ipswich have been great throughout - as both my partner and I can testify over the last 20+ years!

Been doing some 'sorting' in the garden - not my favourite activity, having been cured of gardening as a child! The swifts left a couple of weeks ago - we had 4 boxes out of 6 occupied this year, with two of them having second broods. It's been one of the great joys to stretch out on the lounger to watch and hear them - and good for my poor old heart, too.

Council employees need to act on issues they see when out in community, not just what they are employed directly to do. Eg bin s emptied but leave flytipping next to it. Driving past unemployed overflowing bins in the truck.

Comment from face-to-face. Talywain. Look after whole borough, not just Pontypool. No Christmas lights beyond Pontypool. Nothing in Talywain. Road maintenance, litter and paths that dirty its built up and looks like part of the road, gullies need cleaning. Mess left after works carried out by utility companies. Where gullies are not emptied its causing water to run into my property from the streets. I've had to create a water run off to prevent it coming into my front door. Manhole has been damaged by grass cutter, I've reported it monthly and still no repairs.
