Co-producing the principles

Introduction

The Suffolk Community Services engagement period has now closed, and we have analysed the responses to translate what people said into themes.

Main themes:

  • Access
  • Provision
  • Location
  • Treatment and care
  • Whole system

Now we need to co-produce the guiding principles for the new community services contracts. We are exploring presenting the guiding principles as 'I' statements so that services can be directed to think about the person's perspective.

Using 'I' statements is a tried and tested approach within health and care practice, but this could be a first for them being used within service contracts in Suffolk.

The 'I' statements would directly guide the NHS provider organisations in how they will need to deliver services. Services could then respond to these with 'We will' statements.

We held our 6th I&O Group meeting on 24th March where this was discussed. The link to view the recording can be found here: www.vimeo.com/1176528853?share=copy&fl=sv&fe=ci

You can also download the sub-theme analysis here: www.letstalksnee.co.uk/44343/widgets/135067/documents/103829

Please use the form below to give your feedback on this idea and the potential 'I' statements. It could take about 15 minutes. Please respond before Wednesday 15th April.

These statements are to describe the main 5 themes.

Access
I can easily find, understand and access the services I need, in a way that works for me.

Provision
I receive coordinated, person‑centred support from skilled staff who understand my needs.

Location
I can get care close to home, in accessible community places or through home visits when needed.

Treatment & Care
I receive timely, preventative, holistic care that supports my wellbeing and independence.

Whole System
I experience a joined‑up system where services communicate, referrals are clear, and my care flows smoothly.
