Transgender, non-binary and gender-questioning patient GP experience survey

Thank you for taking the time to read and complete this survey. Your voice and experience are very important in helping us to improve these services for the community moving forward.

This survey has been produced to assist Suffolk North East Essex (SNEE) Integrated Care Board (ICB) to understand the patient experience of those in Primary Care who identify as transgender, non-binary or who may be questioning their gender within Primary Care to influence future commissioning decisions. For the purposes of this survey, "transgender and non-binary patients, and those questioning their gender" will be shortened to "trans+ patients". Reference relates to all services provided by your General Practice (GP) surgery which may include appointments and interactions with your GP, practice nurse, pharmacist and all other staff members within your GP surgery.

The aim of this survey is to evaluate the experience of trans+ patients from their GP surgery which will inform local change and influence training opportunities for various staff roles. We aim to improve the overall experience for trans+ patients and facilitate health inclusion and equity for everyone.

This survey is not focused on your experience of Gender Identity Clinics (GIC) and similar secondary care services, as these are a national NHS England responsibility. However, it could help to highlight opportunities to improve shared care responsibilities between GPs and GICs.

SNEE ICB has been working alongside a working group of trans+ people and healthcare professionals as part of a network, who have supported the development of this survey. If you would like to find out more and join this group, please visit:  https://www.letstalksnee.co.uk/tg-nb-gq-network
