Improving Access to GP surgeries - unmet need

I think most people are aware of the difficulties in getting to see a GP. Where we live the practice book on the day appointments, which means, phone at 8am, or use the app to see if you can book a telephone appointment, or go and wait at the surgery to see if you can get an appointment. The queue on the phone can be 40 people ahead of you, when you finally get through, there are often no appointments left and patients are told to try the next day. I know of several people who having tried a few times, have just given up. Does the ICB have any ideas on how to capture the numbers who give up and don’t seek an appointment. Some I suspect make their way to a&e, but some will just delay until symptoms get worse.
