    Health and Wellbeing Webinars

Health and Wellbeing Webinars are online, live video meetings presented by health and wellbeing professionals within their specialist field. Typically, a webinar lasts for an hour or so. They provide great insight, invaluable advice and often includes time for questions.

A project is underway to consider developing a programme of free Health and Wellbeing Webinars to meet the needs of people and communities across Suffolk and North East Essex (SNEE). We would be grateful if you could spare a few minutes to complete this short online survey. Your participation really matters as it will help determine whether we run webinars and their content. Thank you.

In partnership with NHS East of England, Marie Curie is conducting a study to understand the experiences of people in the East of England who:

    • are living with a terminal illness.

    • are supporting or caring for someone with a terminal illness.

    • have been bereaved in the last two years

The findings and insights will be shared with those responsible for making decisions about palliative and end of life care in the East of England – so together we can ensure a better end of life for all.

Knowledge and Skills you may need to face serious illness, sudden loss, or bereavement - How much do you know?

We tend not to like to talk about end-of-life care but the more we find out about our choices and options, and where to find support, the better prepared we’ll be.

If you are over 18 years and live in the East of England we invite you to complete this public awareness survey. It contains a series of questions to help you identify areas you may wish to learn more about.

All responses are anonymised. Your participation will help guide improvements to end-of-life care in your area.

To take the survey please go to https://ueapsych.eu.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_eESYQOu0PRi9uZw

If you have any questions or need more information about the survey, then please contact Dr Guy Peryer g.peryer@uea.ac.uk at the University of East Anglia.

    Learning Disability Annual Health Check

An annual health check is a yearly check-up which often takes place at your doctor’s surgery. It may also happen at your home in some cases. Having a health check every year can help you find out if you have any health problems you need support with and will give you the opportunity to speak to your GP or nurse.

The Suffolk and North East Essex Joint Forward Plan identifies the need to address health inequalities for people with learning disabilities and autism. One way of doing this is to improve the quality of the annual health checks. Some people have told us of their experiences of having an annual health check and we would like to hear from more people in our communities of their experiences of having an annual health check.

We would like to know what is working well and where things need to be made better. The questionnaires will enable people to

    • Share experiences of their annual health check.

    • Feedback about what worked well for them and what could be better.

    • Help the NHS to know how they could be better supported to attend their annual health check.

A questionnaire is available for people over the age of 14 who have had an annual health check and for anyone caring for or supporting someone with a learning disability.

These questionnaires will help us to make improvements and share positive experiences, as we want all annual health checks to be good.

Where can I find the questionnaire?

Your surgery will send you a link to the ‘Let’s Talk SNEE’ platform where the questionnaire will be available to complete online. The questionnaire is for you and/or anyone that cares or supports you. Please do not share it with anyone else.

Working groups are being set up to tackle the following areas:

    • Awareness Raising, Information, Advice and Guidance

    • Risk Reduction

    • Crisis Support

You may also wish to become a member of the Suffolk Suicide Prevention Partnership – a virtual forum where you can receive information about the programme and the progress we make.

So, if you are a working aged man living or working in Suffolk and you would like to be part of a conversation to improve the wellbeing of men we are waiting to hear from you.
